Based on the end-use, textile technologists tailor products for use in a wide range of sectors –
apparel, sport, shipping (eg inflatables), defence, manufacturing, automotive, medical (sutures), paper-making, food, furniture, aerospace (parachute fabric), electrical engineering (metallic braids) etc .

What's it about

Textile technology involves the application of scientific and engineering principles to design and manufacture fibres, yarn, new finishes as well as controlling machinery.

Pay Off

IIT Delhi graduates earn R3 lakh to R3.5 lakh a year. Others in general make about R1.4 lakh a year .

How do i get there

You should take up science with physics, chemistry and maths in Class 12. After completing Class 12, opt for a bachelor’s programme in textile engineering/technology.
