A Company Secretary (CS) ensures a company's legal & regulatory compliance. He is supposed to guide the board of the company on governance issues. A CS guides the board on shareholders meetings, meetings of directors, establishes a link between the board & stakeholders like shareholders, deposit holders, stock exchanges & regulators. The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) is the place from where you can study to become a CS in India.
