This course refers to the integration of system component interaction, control and optimization of conventional power systems and offshore energy systems. Power systems refer to the branch of engineering which encapsulates generation, transmission and distribution aspects of electrical energy. Offshore energy systems includes design, analysis and modelling of renewable offshore energy sources, such as wind energy, wave energy, thermal energy, tide and ocean current energy and also sun energy. The programme is taught in an innovative, dynamic and challenging environment, through a combination of research-based courses, team-based project work and a high degree of interaction with industrial partners and energy supply companies. Companies take an active part in providing project proposals leading to innovative solutions for onshore and off shore energy systems.
To instill in depth understanding and skill in modeling, simulation and analysis of conventional and offshore energy systems and to provide smart solution to the challenges faced in the power sector
To make the graduates proficient with energy policies, responsibilities of ISO, market models and power management to work effectively in deregulated power industries and Smart Grid Technologies
