The Department offer Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with specialization in Tuberculosis and Chest Diseases. It's a four years full time degree programme.
Admission Criteria:

The candidate should have passed H.S.C. (+2) or equivalent qualification with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Botany & Zoology. Selection will be based as per the university norms.

The Department's infrastructure is modern with all well equipped facilities.

Hostel
The department provide separate hostels for men and women on the campus, with all the necessary facilities. All the hostels are well-equipped, with adequate ventilation and lighting facility. Each room is fitted with tube lights and fans, and each student is provided with a cot, chair and a table. Periodicals and newspapers are supplied to each hostel.
Classroom
The Department has Modern Lecture Halls & Smart Classrooms.
Laboratory
The department has both outpatient and inpatient facilities. Students will have access to some of the best facilities in the examination rooms, where they will be taught how to recognize different strains of the bacterium causing disease and their effects on patients. The examination rooms have facilities for diagnostic bronchoscopy, Directly Observed Therapy Strategy (DOTS) and Pulmonary Function Tests (PFT). The inpatient ward has 20 beds for male and female patients. Video bronchoscopy is used for diagnostic purpose, while the PFT machine is used for testing lung function.
Extra - Curricular
It's a diverse community of students at SRM University, and the activities on offer are as diverse and varied too. There's never a dull moment on campus, as the activities on offer are as diverse and varied too - from entertainment to extra-curricular or even religious pursuits. Several clubs are active on the Department of Accident and Emergency Medicine, SRM university campus, initiated by enthusiastic students.
