Available College Facilities

The Institute’s campus is located on a hilltop at Nehru Nagar, southeast of Bhopal. The site is crowned by a garland of water-bodies on three sides. The building complex includes academic complex, library & computer centre, hostel and mess, administration and accounts wings. The academic complex includes classrooms, MDP halls and faculty blocks. The architectural design of the building complex provides an environment for the academic pursuance and social interaction.

Hostel
An eighty room fully furnished hostel with separate block for girls is there to accommodate students. The hostel rooms are connected with internet facility through LAN. The Mess is equipped with automated and semi-automated equipment and cooking systems. It is capable of serving about 300 people at-a-time.
Classroom
All classrooms are well furnished.
Laboratory
The IIFM Computer Centre has state-of-art hardware and software resources to support diverse computing needs of the faculty members and students. The computer centre is equipped with state-of-the-art GIS and Remote Sensing software for Geo-informatics applications. Computing support, Internet and email facilities are provided round the clock to the academic community. Internet connectivity is also provided to each student residing in the hostel. The Centre has centralized bandwidth equalization and LAN Management facilities supported on LINUX server. The iifm.ac.in domain is also hosted and administered from the computer centre. Computers in the campus are connected on a 100-MBps local area network connected through a campus-wide optical fibre back bone. The centre has excellent software resources, like SPSS, Arc GIS and ERDAS, CASE tools, programming languages, and RDBMS software. A cluster of computers with internet connectivity is available for the dedicated use of MDP participants.
Extra - Curricular
The Cultural Club believes in infusing the students’ vision into extra-curricular activities and thus creating a fusion of expressions. Cultural activities like singing competitions, fashion shows, antakshari, celebration of festivals etc. are organized right through the year, with every month projecting at least one dimension. The Club also showcases SPIC-MACAY activities in the campus, thus serving as an interface between IIFMites and other youth across the nation.
Library
The IIFM Library and Information Services have developed a total collection of 34000 books and other publications in the area of forestry, ecology, environment and management science. The Library subscribes to 206 journals and magazines including 46 journals of foreign origin with online access. A total collection of 308 films and VCDs related to environment, forestry and allied sectors is available in the library along with audio-visual facilities. The library has subscription to J-Gate, institutional membership of the British Library, Bhopal, Developing Library Network (DELNET), New Delhi and Management Library Network (MANLIBNET). The campus wide access to library’s database is available through OPAC on IIFM local area network for the faculty, MDP participants and students.
