
IIT-BHU is the engineering school of Banaras Hindu University (BHU) in Varanasi. The Indian Institute of Technology has not only developed to become a premier educational institution producing graduate engineers with sound scientific and technological background, but also has grown into a Centre which provides versatile postgraduate training and conducts advanced research in engineering and technology. The university campus is spread over nearly 1300 acres at the southern end of the ancient city of Varanasi, on the banks of the holy river Ganga.
Infrastructure Overview: The institute is well equipped with all modern facilities.
Hostel Details: Large Hostel with capacity of 250 students with central garden, mess and a canteen and other facilities.
Laboratory Details:The department hosts eight independent research laboratories. Most of the laboratories are air conditioned and are equipped with the latest instruments.
Classrooms Details: Large classrooms and Halls for Pre-Placement talks and written tests.
Library Details:The Indian Institute of Technology library system consists of a main library, and five departmental libraries which collectively support teaching, research and extension programs of the institute. The library, besides having a huge collection of books on engineering, science and technology offers library services through its various divisions.
Extra Curricular Details:IIT-BHU enjoy a very vibrant campus life, which besides regular academics is full of extra curricular activities, thus networking them in a social atmosphere. These activities are mainly coordinated by the IT-GYMKHANA, which ensures round the year activities and conducts three major national level festivals namely, TECHNEX (Technical Festival), KASHI-YATRA (Cultural Festival) and SPARDHA (Sports Festival), besides these major festivals many minor festivals are also organized by the gymkhana to ensure the complete personality development of all the students.
