ITM-IHM has an academic collaboration with Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh,Scotland, to offer the BA HTM program. QMU was founded in 1834 as the Edinburgh School of Cookery, with the aim to create educational and career opportunities for women and to do something to address the problems of inadequate diet and under nourishment of the urban poor; QMU is something of a pioneer in the fields of Domestic Sciences, Nutrition and Hospitality.

Today, the university’s recognition extends worldwide as QMU actively develops international links and continues to lead the field in specialist areas with cutting edge research and high quality teaching. QMU offers a full range of courses including BA (Hons) in Tourism Management, Hospitality Management (BA-IHTM) and in Golf and Country Club Management.

University of Mumbai

The University of Mumbai (known earlier as University of Bombay) is one of the oldest and premier Universities in India. It was established in 1857 consequent upon “Wood’s Education Dispatch”, and it is one amongst the first three Universities in India.

As a sequel to the change in the name of the city from Bombay to Mumbai, the name of the University has been changed from “University of Bombay” to “University of Mumbai”, vide notification issued by the Government of Maharashtra and published in the Government Gazette dated 4th September, 1996.

ITM-IHM has received approval and affiliation from University of Mumbai to conduct a 3 year full time Degree Program for B.Sc. In Hospitality Studies. This program has been introduced from June 2006. Previously known as the Bachelor of Hotel and Tourism Management Studies (BHTMS), the nomenclature of this program has changed from this academic year onwards to B.Sc. in Hospitality Studies because the Govt. of Maharashtra recognizes this field of studies as more of an Applied Science than a field of Arts.
