About Lourdes Matha Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology

Lourdes Matha Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (LMIHMCT), established by the Lourdes Matha Catholic Educational Society (LMCES) is under the Archdiocese of Changanassery. LMIHMCT was established primarily to impart quality education in the field of Hotel management. Lourdes Matha Catholic Educational Society (LMCES) wish to take the privilege of being one of the distinct industry leaders in hospitality management and consultancy. The college also wishes to house the Hospitality Research and campus recruitment centre. Institute aim is to deliver competent, skilful and quality professionals to the hospitality and related industries.

In laboratory section, college has various kinds of kitchen and bakery, where students practice about muti-cuisine under the guidance of teachers *Basic training kitchen which trains learners in multi-cuisine *Quantity Training Kitchen taught Indian cuisine, bulk cooking and catering *Advance Training Kitchen taught about international cooking

Sports Facilities

A food festival named 'KATKALP' was organized in the month of September 2007. The concept of the festival was to have integration among south Indian states. Menus from various south Indian states were prepared by the students with the help of staff members. Also the ambiance and dress code were in par with the theme. The chief guest of the function was Rev.Fr. John.V.Thadathil, President,LMCES and Mr.Bosco Futado, Learning and Training Manager, Taj Green Cove presided over the function along with executive members of LMCES. The function was organized for 400 pax and the guests were mainly students and staff from LMCST along with invited dignitaries from hospitality industry.

Extra - Curricular Facilities

The library of the college is well stocked with a collection of 3600 volumes of books and more than 60 journals and periodicals, both Indian and foreign.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel facilities are provided separately for boys and girls. Girls' hostel is run by reverend sisters.
