
Madras Christian College has entered into the 173rd year of glorious service to the nation. Founded as a School in 1837 in the black town of Madras, Today the College has around 4500 students and over 220 faculty members serving in 31 departments. It is a matter of pride that the institution is ranked among the Top Ten Liberal Arts and Science Colleges in India.

Infrastructure Overview: The 365-acre (1.48 kms) campus is known for its deer and trees, and is distinguished by a lake encompassed within the campus. It is the second largest scrub jungle in Asia, actively used by various departments like Botany and Zoology for their practical work.
Hostel Details: The college has five resident hostels (Halls) called St. Thomas's Hall, Selaiyur Hall, Bishop Heber Hall, Martin Hall earlier known as Women Hostel and Margret Hall.

Extra Curricular Details:Yet the most famous of these traditions is the inter-collegiate cultural programme titled "Deep Woods"organised by the College Union Society which attracts students from around the country for three days and is famous for the Creativity, Rock Shows, Light Music and Fashion Show.
