Laboratory Details:Language learning becomes a fruitful exercise only when it combines human interaction with mechanical assistance. The language lab at SSCMS is CALL based (Computer Assisted Language Learning). In this method, the stress is on learning not teaching. The software installed in the computer serves as a starting point for the learners and he/she is launched into the world of words, through different pedagogical methods like– Exhaustive teacher inputs. Employing internet search engines. Through OHP presentations. Listening to audio files and Even screening of movies related to the language topic discussed. Apart from imparting communication and language skills, the lab also functions as a multimedia lab for media students to practice designing, pagination using software’s like Adobe Photoshop, Corel Draw, and Flash. MULTIMEDIA LAB: SSCMS is one among the few institutes in South India to offer a full-fledged Apple iMac based multimedia lab. Apple computers are the best in the world and are the last word in the field of multimedia and animation. The company's best-known hardware products include the Macintosh line of personal computers, the iPod line of portable media players, and latest 3G iPhone. SSCMS offers the students an opportunity to familiarize with Mac OS and provides them exposure to the state of the art editing software Final Cut Pro. SSCMS has twenty Apple iMac systems which is exclusively used for learning multimedia and editing.

Extra Curricular Details:Video Production: Students enrolled in video production courses are provided with acquisition equipment in Mini DV. Portable lighting kits, grip and audio are also available to video students. Editing: 9 straight cut analog video editing systems, 2 Arti edit bays, and an A/B roll edit suite equipped with a GVG Model 110 switcher and a Sony BVE 910 controller are used by video, film and animation students. Non-linear edit suites include 3 Avid Media Suite Pro systems, an Avid Media Composer suite, and 2 Media 100 editing systems.
