    Hi Adarsh,

Yes, to become a translator, you need to have excellent fluency in reading, writing, speaking in two or more languages. Most translators and interpreters have at least a Bachelor’s degree in media/journalism/language & Literatures. Along with the degree, you must have strong ethics as you could be dealing with sensitive documents, good presence of mind and keen ear of diction.

A good general knowledge, excellent spoken and written English, fluency in two or more foreign languages and IT skills are essential. Areas of expertise, such as scientific, technical or legal knowledge can be beneficial. Practical translation work, a EU stage or any other commercial or administrative experience is useful.
