what are the eligibility criteria for the admission in chemical engineering course for direct second year after diploma
As per the official website of the National Institute of Technology, Surathkal.Unfortunately you can not get admission in Chemical Engineering through National Institute of Technology, Surathkal in the second year after completed diploma. The reason is that NIT does not support lateral entry. You will have to choose some other option. For admission in NIT, students must appear for IIT-JEE From 2017. The eligibility criteria for entrance exam is 12th with PCM (Physics, chemistry,Mathematics) subjects and at least 40 percent marks. Since diploma course is not considered equivelant to 12th.
However there are various colleges in India that will offer you admission through lateral entry. Apart from NIT, most colleges in India offer lateral entry for diploma students. The admission is given through entrance exam called Lateral Entry Engineering Test (LEET). You will have to appear in this exam for lateral entry admission. If you want admission in B.Tech through lateral entry then you must have minimum of 50/60 percent marks.
