Introduction:- The hotel and leisure accommodations industry is moving at an unprecedented pace, making hotel management a lucrative career option for a lot of students.Apart from boosting the economy, the tourism industry in India also provides employment opportunities to hundreds of thousands of quality Students, who pursue courses such as Hotel Management.
Cooking food or attending guests and showing hospitality in a luxurious room is not hotel management, it’s a big industry just like a tree has so many branches this industry also has so many branches, which include supervision, coordination administration, accommodation, food & drink and many more. To handle these areas this industry demands skills like management, interpersonal skills, financial management, human resource management, communication skills etc.
Course Objectives:- The three-year degree course in Hotel Management and Tourism offered at JIMS explores the relationship between the Hospitality and Tourism Industry. An ideal candidate for this course should have excellent communication skills with a pleasing personality; he should be outgoing, friendly and have the ability to take responsibilities.
The curriculum is designed to meet the global and regional need for qualified graduates, who will be able to apply their knowledge directly into the workplace. The programme will have an emphasis on managerial and operational issues and the philosophy can be described as ‘Think Global, Act Local’. The delicate balance between Tourism Destination; Travel and Hospitality Management; and the cherishment of Cultural Diversity, Heritage and Authenticity will be the highlighting part of the course study.
Applicant must have completed formal secondary education.
Applicant must have good eloquent skills.
A student should secure minimum 50% marks in 10+2 (Best of four) including English.
Selection process:-The student has to clear a Written Test which is followed by Group Discussion and Personal Interview.
