National Law University (NLU), Delhi conducts All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) for admission to B.A.LL.B (Hons.), LL.M and Ph.D Degree Programmes.

National Law University, Delhi (NLU-Delhi) is a specialized law university offering courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. It is one of the elite national law schools in India built on the five-year law degree model proposed and implemented by the Bar Council of India.

AILET 2017 Eligibility Criteria

B.A., LL.B. (Hons.)- Five-Year Programme:

Eligibility: Candidates should have passed Senior Secondary School Examination (10+2) or equivalent examination in any discipline with 50% marks. Students appearing in the 12th standard examination in March/April, 2017 can also apply.

Age: Applicants should be below 21 years as on 1 July, 2017 (23 years in case of SC/ST candidates).

Total Seats: 80

LL.M. (One year):

Eligibility: Aspirants should complete LL.B. or an equivalent degree with 55% marks (50% in case of SC/ST/ Persons with Disability). The candidates appearing in final LL.B. examination in April/May, 2017 can also apply.

Total Seats: 20 + 5 seats for Foreign Nationals

Ph.D Programme:

Eligibility: Applicants having LL.M. Degree with 55% marks or its equivalent (50% in case of SC/ST/ Persons with Disability) are eligible for the examination.

AILET 2017 Application Details

The application forms for AILET 2017 are going to be available from January 1, 2017. Aspiring candidates will be required to first register themselves on the official website of NLU by entering the desired information including their email id and their scanned photograph. Post registration, candidates will be required to go to the ‘Application Locker’ and select the application form they would like to fill-in. This procedure will be followed by payment of application fee which confirms the application. Further, the application forms will be available online only.

AILET 2017 Counselling/Interview

Short listed students will be called for Spot Counselling which is going to be held in the fourth week of June 2017. Candidates are required to carry these documents for verification:

  • AILET 2017 Admit Card
  • Class X mark sheet
  • Class XII mark sheet (Not required for the students appearing in 10+2)
  • SC/ST/PD/KM Certificate (If applicable)
  • BPL Category Certificate copy, attested from competent authority (in case of BPL candidates of SC/ST category)
  • Passport Size Photographs
  • Academic Certificates
  • Residential Certificate
