Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test (BITSAT) is a computer based online test for admission to Integrated First Degree Programmes in BITS (Birla Institute of Technology & Sciences), Pilani Campuses in Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad. It is conducted by BITS, Pilani. BITSAT 2018 is scheduled to be conducted online from 16 May – 31 May 2018. Every day, the exam will be held in two slots, from 9.00am till 12.00noon and from 2.00pm till 5.00pm.

BITSAT 2018 Eligibility Criteria

First Degree programmes of BITS except for B.Pharm (Hons): Students should have passed the 10+2 from a recognised Central or State board or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics and adequate proficiency in English.

For admission to B.Pharm (Hons.): Students should have passed the 10+2 from a recognised Central or State board or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology and adequate proficiency in English. However, students with PCM may also apply for Pharmacy program.

Admission to all the programmes is subject to the conditions given below-

The students should have secured a minimum of aggregate 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology in 10+2 examination, with at least 60% marks in each of the Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics / Biology subjects.

BITSAT 2018 Application Details

The application form of BITSAT 2018 is available on its official website i.e. www.bitsadmission.com Interested candidates can submit their online application forms till 13th March 2018 (5pm). Candidates are suggested to check the complete eligibility norms and the process to apply online before filling the BITSAT application form. There is no any other mode to fill the application form of BITSAT is available.

Steps to fill the BITSAT Online Application Form 

Candidates have to complete the BITSAT application forms in 04 simple steps. Check the steps below

Step 1 – Registration- First, register yourself with Name, Gender, Date of Birth and a working email ID. A computer generated registration ID and password will be provided after successful registration

Step 2 - Filling the BITSAT Application Form- Log-in to your account with the correct combination of registration ID and password and enter all the asked details with correct information.

Step 3 – Uploading of Scanned Images- Now, scan your passport-size recent photograph and signature and upload the same in the specified dimensions. The images should be in jpeg format

Step 4 – Payment of Application Fee- In the last step, candidates have to pay the mentioned application fee.

After completing all the steps, a confirmation page will appear on the computer screen. Candidates should download the completely filled BITSAT Application form for future reference. 

Application Form Correction

Although the facility to edit particulars is provided to the candidates, it is recommended to recheck the application form for spelling mistakes. Candidates can edit the online application forms from 15 March to 19 March 2018. Only a few particular will be allowed for correction.  

Admission Form Availability

The admission process for BITS will commence from 01 May and candidates can submit their online admission forms with 12th marks and preferences to different degree programmes offered at three campuses of BITS till 18 June 2018 (5.00pm).

Mode of Submitting Application Fee

Candidates can submit the application fee either by online mode or by offline mode. 

Online Mode- Candidates can pay the application fee through credit/debit card or net banking. All credit and debit cards issued by Master and Visa will be accepted.

Offline Mode- In another mode, candidates can download the pay in slip and deposit the fee in cash at the nearby ICICI bank branch.

BITSAT 2018 Exam Syllabus

The BITSAT Entrance 2018 test will be conducted on the basis of NCERT syllabus for 11th and 12th class. Candidates may refer to the NCERT textbooks for the contents.

Section 1, Physics:

The physics section will cover topics that have been taught in class XI and XII. Topics like units and measurements, kinematics, Newton’s Laws of Motion, impulse and momentum, work and energy, rotational motion, gravitation, solids and fluids, oscillations etc. which are covered as part of class XI and XII syllabus for science students.

Section 2, Chemistry:

The chemistry section will have all the topics covered in the class XI and XII by science students. Topics like states of matter, atomic structure, chemical bonding and molecular structure, thermodynamics, physical and chemical equilibria, electrochemistry, chemical kinetics etc. All the topics that have been covered in class XI and XII in science streams in the subject chemistry will be tested in the entrance exam.

Section 3, English Proficiency and logical reasoning:

The English proficiency section is basically meant to assess the language capabilities of the candidates. General English that is covered in school along with exercises like comprehensions, passages, grammar etc, will be asked in this section. Topics like grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehensions, compositions etc will be assessed in this section.

The logical reasoning section will have questions to assess the verbal and non-verbal reasoning abilities of the candidates. Interpreting data, thinking logically, problem-solving abilities etc, are all assessed and asked in this section. Topics like verbal reasoning, nonverbal reasoning etc, will be asked in this section.

Section 4, Mathematics/ Biology:

Mathematics:

Maths, again, will be the class XI and XII level. Topics taught and covered under the maths subject in school; especially during class XI and XII will make up this section. Topics like algebra, trigonometry, coordinate geometry (two and three dimensional, both), calculus, probability etc. To prepare for this section, students should brush up their school mathematics (class X, XI and XII) to be clear on the concept and get plenty of practise. Students can also get plenty of reference books to practise like R.S. Aggarwal and R.D. Sharma.

Biology (For B.Pharm Candidates):

Here again, the topics and chapters that are taught to students in class XI and XII will be asked in the question paper. Topics like diversity in living world, The Cell: Unit of Life, structure and function, genetics and evolution, structure and function: Plants etc. All the major topics covered in class XI and XII, will be tested in the entrance exam.
