Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) is a qualifying exam required to take admission in Master of Design (M.Des.) programmes at IISc BangaloreIIT BombayIIT DelhiIIT GuwahatiIIT Hyderabad and IIT Kanpur, and PhD programmes in Design at some institutes.

CEED 2017 exam will be divided into two parts i.e. Part A which is an online segment contains three sections and Part B containing 5 questions which have to be answered in the answer book provided by the invigilator.

CEED 2017 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates applying for CEED 2017 exam must satisfy the eligibility criteria mentioned below:

  • Aspirants must have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/ Architecture/ Design/ Interior Design or any other equivalent 4 years programme after 10+2.
  • Applicants having Professional Diploma in Design (NID/CEPT or an equivalent of 4 years programme after 10+2) are also eligible for CEED 2017.
  • BFA graduates can also apply for CEED 2017.
  • Students having Master’s degree in Arts/ Science/ Computer Applications (2-year programme after 10+2+3) can also appear for the exam.

(NOTE: Candidates having 3 years’ Bachelor’s degree are not eligible for CEED 2017 examination.)

CEED 2017 Application Details

Candidates are required to visit the official website of CEED exam for registrations. Applicants need to register themselves for CEED 2017 by providing a valid email ID and mobile number for further communications.

After completing the registration confirmation page, a validating email will be sent to the registered email ID, and a password will be sent to the registered mobile number to complete the registration process.

After registration, candidates are required to log into the website to get the online application form. Aspirants will need to fill all the required details and proceed to Fee Payment page. Applicants can use Internet Banking, Credit Card or Debit Card through Bill Desk application payment. After completion of the payment, students will get a confirmation page which can be kept for the students’ own reference.

The duration of CEED 2017 will be three hours which is segregated into one hour for Part A and two hours for Part B.

CEED 2017 Counselling/Interview

Qualifying CEED exam only doesn’t guarantee admission to any programme. Students are required to satisfy the other criteria such as Tests or Interviews etc of the respective institutes.

Candidates will need to visit the official websites of corresponding institutes and apply for the programmes individually.

CEED 2017 Exam Syllabus

The objective of CEED 2017 is to evaluate the aptitude of the students for design involving visual perception ability, drawing skills, logical reasoning, creativity and communication skills. Thus, the questions will be based on the general awareness, mathematical and graphic aptitude, basic designing aptitude, observation and visualisation.
