CMAT (Common Management Aptitude Test) is an online entrance test conducted by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), India for admission to AICTE approved MBA and the postgraduate diploma in management programs colleges across the country. From 2016, CMAT is conducted once in a year in January. Earlier, it used to be held twice a year. Every year, over 1000 management colleges offer the admission on the basis of CMAT exam. Approx. 70,000 candidates take CMAT exam every year. Last year, a total of 59,181 candidates qualified the exam, where 2 candidates got the perfect 100 percentile.

The notification of CMAT is most likely to be released in October, 2017 which will be followed by the commencement of CMAT application process and the entrance test is expected to be held in the third or fourth week of January. All the important dates and other details of CMAT 2018 will be published in the application form. After the conclusion of the application process, candidates will be able to download the CMAT admit card. The result of CMAT will be declared in the second week of February. There will a total of 100 multiple choice questions asked in the exam and the candidates will be given 180 minutes to attempt all the questions. As per the CMAT exam pattern, the test will be comprised of four sections i.e. Logical Reasoning, General Awareness, Language Comprehension and Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation. CMAT application form will be available only in online mode. Interested candidates will have to apply within the time period which will be specified in the CMAT 2018 notification. All the candidates are suggested to check the eligibility norms of CMAT 2018 before filling the application form.

CMAT 2018 Eligibility Criteria

All the candidates are advised to check the eligibility criteria of CMAT 2018. It is compulsory to fulfill the eligibility norms to appear for the exam. If any candidate found to be ineligible at the time of document verification, they will be disqualified. Following are the criteria that need to be fulfilled by the CMAT applicants:

  • Candidate must be a graduate in any disciple.
  • Final year students of graduation can also apply for the exam but they must complete their bachelor’s degree before the commencement of academic the year of 2018-19.
  • Candidates must be an Indian citizen.

CMAT 2018 Application Details

 

CMAT Application Process- Pre-Requisite

  • Scanned photograph having dimensions 140 X 160 and file size less than 60kb
  • Scanned signature having dimensions 60 X 90 and file size less than 30kb
  • Arrange for payment of CMAT 2018 exam fee

Candidates will have to follow a three-stage process for filling the CMAT 2018 application form:

 

  • Candidates will be required to fill a self-registration form entering their email id and mobile number. On submitting, login credentials will be generated.  At CMAT registration portal, using those login details , login as ‘existing user’
  • Now, pay the CMAT 2018 application fee using any of the modes as mentioned in the above section.
  • Enter the required details in the CMAT application form. Candidates are suggested to fill these details carefully as it cannot be edited once the form will be submitted. So, review the details filled in the form and submit the same. The candidates will be required to fill in personal, education, work experience, contact details. Also, they will have to upload their recent photograph & signature in the form.

Application fees detail

CMAT application process will get complete after the payment of CMAT application fees. Without paying the application fee, the application form will not be submitted. Candidates will have to pay a non-refundable fee through the following mode:

CMAT 2018 Counselling/Interview

The result of CMAT is expected to be announced in February, 2018 by AICTE. The result will be released online and in the form of scorecard along with a merit list. Candidates can check the result on the official website of CMAT. For the admission to any B-school affiliated to AICTE, candidates will have to produce CMAT scorecard.

How to check CMAT Result 2018?

  • Visit the official website and find the link to check the result.
  • Fill in the required details i.e. registered email id and password.
  • Click on submit button to proceed.
  • The result of CMAT 2018 will be displayed on the screen.
  • Download the scorecard and take a printout of the scorecard

CMAT Cutoff 2018

Each CMAT participating institute will declare their cutoff. Based on the cutoff score, candidates will be shortlisted for the further admission procedure. There are a number of factors which will be taken into consideration while determining the cutoff marks:

  • Number of test takers
  • Difficulty level of the exam
  • Seats availability

CMAT Selection Process 2018

Based on the CMAT cutoff score, the candidates will be selected for further admission process. The candidates scoring equal to or more than CMAT cutoff 2018 are only shortlisted for the pre-admission procedures. Over 1000 institutes release their individual cutoff and follow their own selection process which includes Writing Ability Test, GD round then Personal Interview for selecting eligible candidates.
