Tips to Prepare for MICAT
Reasoning: In this section, you will be asked questions on family trees, statement conclusion, data sufficiency, visual reasoning and find the missing numbers, matrix problems, game theory etc.
(Tips: You should brush up your Mathematical skills by practicing sample papers, previous year papers. Attempt questions you know answer of first. Comprehending questions are very important.)
Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning: These questions can come from the areas like Statistics, Geometry, Pie Charts, Probability, Average, Equations and Simple Interests etc.
(Tips: - You should take as many mock tests as you can to do well in this section.)
Verbal Ability: This section will include questions in three areas, reading comprehension, grammar and verbal reasoning. Reading Comprehension passages are generally short (about 2-3 paragraphs).
(Tips: You would need to read magazines, newspapers, articles etc. for a good command over English language. Learn basics of English grammar. Read as much as you can as it enhances your vocabulary and comprehension abilities.)
General Awareness: It tests you on general awareness and current happenings.
(Tips: Apart from reading GK books and Journals, reading current affair magazines and newspapers is must! Take note of important affairs of the national and international level.
Creative Ability: This section will include essay writing, story-telling and word formation.
(Tips: Again, you should read English articles and news as much as you can. To be fluent in writing skills, you must write at least 800 -1000 words on daily basis and cross check your grammar, punctuation and vocabulary errors.)
