State Bank of India (SBI) is inviting applications for the recruitment of Probationary Officers in State Bank of India (SBI). The State Bank of India will conduct the examination in two phases i.e. Preliminary and Main Examination to select the eligible candidates. The final merit will be prepared on the basis of the candidates’ performance in Main examination (Phase II) and GD & Interview (Phase III) taken together.

The registrations for the examiantion have begun from February 7th, 2017 onwards and will conclude on March 6th, 2017. The preliminary examinations will be on April 29th, 30th and May 6th and 7th, 2017. The main exams will be on June 4th, 2017.

SBI PO 2017 Eligibility Criteria

Academic Qualification

Candidates must have a graduate degree in any discipline or any equivalent qualification recognised by the Central Government.

Those appearing in final year of qualifying examination can also apply for the exam. However, they will need to produce proof of passing graduation at the time of interview.

Age Limit

Candidates should have attained the age of 21 years and should not be more than 30 years of age as on April 1, 2016.

SBI PO 2017 Application Details

Aspiring candidates can fill-in the registration forms online by visiting the official web portal of SBI PO 2017 i.e. www.statebankofindia.com or www.sbi.co.in. The registration process will require candidates to enter the desired details and pay the registration fee to get them slves registered.

All candidates should note that the application forms for SBI PO will not be available offline or on any portal other than SBI PO.

The SBI Probationary Officers (PO) examination will be conducted in two phases.

Phase-I: Preliminary Examination

Preliminary examination will comprise 100 objective type questions for 100 marks which will be divided into three sections as follow:

Candidates are required to pass all the three tests (mentioned above) individually.

The Descriptive Test of 1-hour duration with 50 marks will be a Test of English Language (Letter Writing & Essay).

SBI PO 2017 Exam Syllabus

Candidates appearing for SBI PO should prepare for questions testing their Reasoning Ability, Quantitative Aptitude, English language, Writing Skills, etc.

  1. Reasoning Ability section may comprise of topics that includes Puzzles, Syllogism, Statement & Arguments, Blood Relation, etc.
  2. Quantitative Aptitude section will ask questions on Mensuration, Number System, Time & Distance, Ratio & Proportion, etc. On the other hand, etc.
  3. English Language will test the candidate’s language skills and vocabulary by asking questions on topics including Synonyms, Unseen passage, Para Jumbles, Spotting Errors, Antonyms, Fill in the Blanks, Reading Comprehension, etc.
  4. Descriptive section may have questions on Paragraph Writing, Letter Writing, Essay Writing, Reading Comprehension, etc.
