VIT University conducts VITEEE (VIT Engineering Entrance Exam) to offer admission to B.Tech. Engineering programmes. Students who have passed or appearing in the intermediate (10+2) examination can appear in this test to secure a seat in Vellore Institute of Technology. The information brochure and other important details related to the VITEEE 2018 will be issued in the month of October 2017. VITEEE 2018 Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

Candidates whose birth date falls on or after 1 July 1996 are eligible to apply for VITEEE-2018.

Nationality-

  1. Indian National (Resident / Non Resident) are eligible to apply for VITEEE 2018.
  2. Candidates having valid PIO and OCI are also eligible. (Candidates studying/studied in abroad can apply through foreign category only).

Qualifying Examination

Candidates who have completed or appearing in 2018, in any one of the following qualifying examinations are eligible.

  • 10+2 Examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), State Board and The Council for Indian School Certificate Examination -ISCE.
  • Two-year Pre-University Exam or Intermediate conducted by a recognized Board/ University.
  •  High School Certificate Exam of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.
  • General Certificate Education (GCE) exam (London/Cambridge/Sri lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.

Candidates studied in National Institute of Open Schooling are eligible also for the VITEEE-2018.

Minimum Marks Required in the Qualifying Examination-

  • Candidates should have secured an aggregate of 60% in Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics/Biology in the qualifying exam (+2/Intermediate).
  • Candidates belonging to SC/ST and residing in Jammu and Kashmir and the North Eastern states of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Sikkim, Nagaland, and Tripura can avail the 10% relaxation in minimum qualification marks i.e. 50%

VITEEE 2018 Application Details

VIT University issues the online application in the month of December 2017. Candidates have to check all norms of eligibility criteria before applying online. The last date of submitting the online VITEEE forms will be separate for National and International candidates. For Indian national the online form and offline forms are available. Candidates can have the details of VITEEE Application form below

Online-

In online process, students have to visit the official website of VIT University and follow the below given instructions.

Click on the VITEEE 2018 Application Form Link and fill all the personal, educational and residential details in the form.

Now, upload the passport size colour photograph with 10KB to 200 KB (Dimensions - 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm) and candidate’s signature with 10KB to 200 KB (Dimensions - 3.5 cm x 1.5 cm). Both the documents must be in JPG / JPEG format

Submit the application fee through Net banking / Credit card / Debit card

Offline

Application fees detail

Rs.970 for applying online and Rs.990 for applying offline.

NRI Candidates - 50 USD

To pay online application fee, candidates can use their debit card, credit card or can pay using net banking or through a demand draft.

On the other hand, offline candidates can simply pay the amount at the post-office to obtain the application forms.

Exam Pattern

VITEEE Exam Pattern

VITEEE 2017 will be a computer-based test which will be conducted in three sessions. 

The exam paper will consists of a total of 125 multiple-choice questions carrying one mark each. 

There will be two exam paper sets i.e. medical & non-medical. Candidates will be required to answer any one of the question paper sets of their choice. 

The duration of VITEEE 2017 is 2.5 hours.

Candidates may note that there is no negative marking for VITEEE 2017.

VITEEE 2018 Exam Syllabus

  1. Physics section can have questions on topics like Electrostatics, Laws of Motion, Current Electricity, Optics, Nuclear Physics, Atomic Physics, Magnetic Effects of Electric Current, etc.
     
  2. Chemistry section may contain questions from topics including Atomic Structure, Electrochemistry, Organic Nitrogen Compounds, Alcohols & Ethers, Isomerism in Organic Compounds, Carbonyl Compounds, etc.
     
  3. English section may include questions on Grammar, Unseen Passage & Comprehension, Vocabulary, etc.
     
  4. Mathematics section can have questions on Matrices & Determinants, Vector Algebra, Differential Calculus, Analytical Geometry of Two & Three Dimensions, Integral Calculus, Probability, etc.
     
  5. Biology section can include topics like Cell & Molecular Biology, Genetics & Evolution, Reproduction, Human Physiology, Plant Physiology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Biodiversity, Environment, etc.
