What is BHM?

Also known as BHM course, Bachelor of Hotel Management programme is an undergraduate study programme for producing adept and lively managers to cope with the requirement in the fastest growing industry in the world, the hotel industry. i came to this college for my training from costa. During this training, I have learnt a lot of good things from the chefs of the college. The chefs will mould you and make you prepared for the job which you will be going for. In these nine days of training have made a lot of new friends and looking ahead for the future work which I will be going for. You can have accessibility of all different kitchen equipments.

Myself Abhishek Naik selected for p&o uk cruises for commis position, Completed my p&o uk training from brand CAI which was of 6 weeks (36 days), It was a good experience with chefs and the staff overall. Good experience with the staff and that's it.

The faculty needs to be better. Students are not very supportive. The placements are not that great. The salary packages are low. I would not recommend this college.





BHM Eligibility Criteria

The requirement for Bachelor of Hotel Management is one of the most relaxed ones, another reason for its popularity. Although the selection process of students for Bachelor of Hotel Management might vary from institution to institution, the overall eligibility criteria are the same for all institutions offering a BHM course.

The eligibility criteria for pursuing Bachelor in Hotel Management are slated as follows:

  • Class 12th from a recognised state education board or an equivalent qualification from a recognised institution with at least 50% (relaxation for non-General candidates) minimum marks
  • Appearing and scoring more than the cut-off score in the entrance examination conducted by the institution one is interested in taking admission at
  • Resident of India or any other nationality recognised by the institution of interest

Some institutions might impose other eligibility criteria like age and physical capability for BHM course aspirants. Candidates belonging to non-General categories are required to produce the original category certificate for availing relaxation of marks and/or other special respites.

 

BHM course Specialization

Although BHM course does not offer any specialisations, candidates are required to choose major and minor subjects during the final year of the course. Based on these major subjects, candidates can apply for specific positions within the Hotel Management niche. Candidates looking to pursue postgraduate courses in Hotel Management after the successful completion of Bachelor of Hotel Management can choose any of the various specialisations available in the higher studies.

Food & Beverage

Introduction

Popularly known as F&B, this hotel management specialisation educates students to gauge the quality of food and drink services served in a hotel or restaurant. The specialisation also covers the management of the finances related to this section of hotel management. Moreover, it sees to the sourcing, ordering and transporting of pre-processed products required for the process.

Food & Beverage Job Prospectus

A Food & Beverage Manager is responsible for handling all the upkeep and production of eating & drinking services provided by hotels and restaurants. One should have intensive knowledge of various cuisines and should be able to distinguish between good and great quality eating & drinking services. A Food & Beverage Manager handles the whole lot ranging from bringing in all the raw products to preparing the menu and everything in between.

Food Production

Introduction

Food Production is the specialisation of Hotel Management that deals with the production and overseeing of food services provided by a hotel. This includes foods made from grains, livestock, seafood and vegetables. Supervising food production and maintaining quality is important in this specialisation. Processes via which the raw products are transformed into quality food are also overseen in this section.

Food Production Job Prospectus

Food Production Managers decide how eateries will be available. They are responsible for checking the quality of the raw products used in producing the hotel cuisine and assure that delightful meals are prepared from the raw materials. It is best that a Food Production Manager has quite an acquaintance with several tastes and cuisines.

Rooms Division

Introduction

Rooms Division is the practice of executive housekeeping and front office management. All the general operations of the front office are executed in this section of Hotel Management. Arranging receptions, making reservations, caretaking events and night management are some of the duties handled by the department. Room Division is an effective presentation of the overall service provided by a hotel.

Rooms Division Job Prospectus

A person responsible for Rooms Division Management is known as the Rooms Division Manager. Rooms Division Manager is responsible for everything, ranging from housekeeping to handling issues of the front office. Rooms Division Manager reports directly to the Deputy Manager or the General Manager of the hotel or resort. In fact, General Managers rely on Rooms Division Managers to provide a wonderful experience to clients.
