What is MBA in Information Technology?

MBA in Information Technology is a postgraduate management degree programme that offers specialised education in the field of IT or information technology. Leading B-schools and thousands of other colleges offer a two-year or four-semester course in India. While the MBA or Master of Business Administration programme in IT is offered on a full-time basis in most institutions, some universities and B-Schools offer this course on a part-time, online, virtual classroom or distance-learning mode. Still, most of the graduate students go for a full-time degree course.

Information Technology in the modern world is a necessity, and thus, the MBA in Information Technology course is one of the majorly demanded academic programmes. While the course focuses on various aspects of Information Technology, it does so within the context of business and management. Though students with an IT background may find it easy to adapt to this programme, it is also not difficult for other graduates to do the same due to the not-so-technical nature of the programme. The course is basically an integration of IT and the concepts of business administration.
