Environmental journalism developed as a full-fledged field within journalism. A degree/diploma in science/environmental science and a course in journalism or science communication from a good institute would be a good option. Number of colleges offering diplomas and degrees in journalism/photography, few offer a full-time course in environmental journalism such as
• Xavier Institute of Communications (XIC) – Optional module called Science and Environment Journalism
• International Institute of Journalism & Mass Communication (IIJMC) – Module in semester III
• Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) – Certificate Course on the policies and practices of environmental management in India
After completing these courses you can work as wildlife photography journalist, wildlife journalist, wildlife scientist, forester, etc.
