The Common Entrance Test (CET) is conducted by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) for admissions to the various engineering, technological & scientific programmes (at the undergraduate and postgraduate level) it offers. Some of these degrees are:
B.Tech, M.Tech, MCA, M.Sc. (Environment Management), M.Sc.(Forensic Science), M.Sc.(Ciminology), B.Arch., BCA, BBA, MBA, BMC, B.Sc.(MLT), B.Sc.(Hons) Nursing, BJ(MC), BASLP, BRT, B.Pharma, BPT, MPT, BHMCT, B.Ed., LLB, LLM, MAHM, MCPHM, MHRPD, BHMS, MBBS and Ph.D etc
We will discuss in detail here the CET for BHMCT (Bachelor of Hotel Management Catering Technology).
The GGSIPU-CET is not common for different courses. There is a separate entrance test on separate dates for each course. But the format of the question papers for all courses is more or less the same; they consist of multiple-choice objective-type questions (150 questions, 600 marks, 2.5 hours). The answers have to be marked on an OMR sheet. Every question is of equal weightage, with negative marking for wrong answers.
You have to pass 12th standard or an equivalent level with at least 50% marks and must also have passed in English (core or elective or functional) as a subject.
The format of the exam is like any other MBA entrance exam; multiple choice questions with answers to be marked on OMR sheets; negative marking for every wrong answer. As mentioned earlier, there is a separate entrance test on separate dates for each course. So the best way to prepare for CET is practice, practice and some more practice. Find free mock tests here for BHMCT CET and start your practice marathon right away!
All colleges that are a part of/affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University and offewr the BHMCT degree accept CET scores.
Date of CET (BHMCT): 29th May 2011
