Snapshot About the ExamIIT-JEE (Indian Institute of Technology - Joint Entrance Exam) is the exam conducted for the students who aspire to take admission in Engineering and Technology courses under the top technical institutes of India. The IIT-JEE test, organized and conducted by the various IITs by a policy of rotation, will be managed by IIT Delhi this year (2012).
Details - There will be two sections in the entrance exam, each comprising of questions from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
- All the questions will be Multiple Choice Type (MCQ).
- Negative marking scheme will be followed in the checking of examinations.
- The candidate can opt for question paper in any of the language, English or Hindi.
Eligibility - The candidate must have passed their 10+2 examinations from a recognized board.
- The candidate can appear in the Joint Entrance Exam two times only, that also should be in consecutive years.
- The candidate must be physically fit for the course for which they have applied.
- The candidates who will be giving their final examinations of 10+2 in 2011 are also eligible to apply.
How To Prepare 1. Stay motivated- Considering the level of competition, preparation for the exams calls for a tremendous effort mentally and physically. Once decided, raise the level of performance.
2. Set up a Routine- The first step of smart and successful studying is to build a routine. Fix a time, place and duration for studying everyday. In order to achieve success, do take good care of your health. Well organized study material certainly helps in covering all the subjects step by step in right time.
3. Select appropriate study material - Coaching is important. But you must stick to their books also. No coaching notes can replace reading of textbooks. You must understand thoroughly the major ideas and concepts presented. Without such a conceptual framework, you will not be able to do your best.
4. Approach in a systematic manner -
- Write down the keynotes
- Write down the questions that you cannot answer
- Mark sections for clarification wherever necessary
- Review the key notes after completion
5. Prepare with a competitive Study Group - Working with a competitive study group goes a very long way in the successful preparation of IITJEE. Group discussion with teachers and fellow students will recreate a cooperative environment to multiply your knowledge exponentially.
6. Time Management - Time is the most essential element and a well defined time table is very important. This would include selecting the best time to study, deciding which subjects to study first, setting up goals and taking regular breaks. Colleges Accepting This ExamThere are fifteen IITs at present, located in Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Delhi, Gandhinagar, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jodhpur, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Mandi, Mumbai, Patna, Ropar and Roorkee. The admissions to the Undergraduate Programmes at these institutions for all Indian and Foreign nationals are made through the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE).
