Delhi Technological University was established in 1941 as Delhi Polytechnic and then changed it names too Delhi School of Engineering in 1965 until 2009 when its name was changed to Delhi Technological University. They offer courses in UG, PG and Ph.D. degrees like B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA, and Ph.D. They offer facilities like Library, Hostels, Health Care, Knowledge Park, Computer Centre and more.  They have the following departments:

Department of Applied Chemistry

Department of Civil Engineering

Department of Computer Science & Engineering

Areas of interest include design principles, development of system software for operating systems, Database management systems, data mining, computer graphics and networks, software testing, software packages and CASE tools, miniaturizing in Computer technology, audio-video, and image processing, storage and retrieval, data processing, communication and nano-technology, advance computer networks, grid and cluster computing, data compression, natural language processing etc. 

Delhi School of Management

Areas of interest include Information Technology Management, Supply Chain Management, Knowledge & Technology Management, Finance, Human Resources, Marketing, etc. 

Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering

Areas of interest include Electronics and Communication namely VLSI, DSP, Image Processing, Micro strip antenna design, Sensor Networks, Analog and digital system design. VLSI Design and Embedded Systems, Signal Processing and Digital Design, and Microwave and Optical Communication.

Department of Electrical Engineering

The university has facilities such as Canteen and Shopping Plaza, Health Center, Sports, Computer Center, Library Manual, Knowledge park, Guest house, Gymnasium, Electronic Surveillance System, Electronic Resource Centre, Automation of Library & Services, extra-curricular activities, etc. 


The university has 8 Boys and 5 Girls hostels that accommodate 1284 boys and 334 girls. The boys hostels are Bhaskaracharya Hostel (178 Seats), Sir C. V. Raman Hostel (178 Seats), Sir J. C. Bose Hostel (178 Seats), Varahmihir Hostel (176 Seats), Sir Visversvaraya Hostel (180 Seats), Aryabhatta Hostel (168 Seats), Transit Hostel (60 Seats) and H. J. Bhabha Hostel (168 Seats). The girl's hostel are Sister Nivedita Hostel (99 Seats), Type V Girls Hostel (54 Seats), Kalpana Chawla Hostel (45 Seats), Type III Girls Hostel 66 Seats and Type II Girls Hostel (70 Seats). 


The college has state-of-the-art classrooms. 


The university has a number of laboratories for imparting education to the students. 

The students of DTU participate in various competitions in the NCR region, particularly, engineering institutions. It has a 450 m. track, ground for Football, Hockey, Cricket, two courts for Volley ball, two courts for basketball, three courts for Tennis and five courts for Badminton, Table Tennis rooms, Chess Rooms, Carrom Rooms, and Gyms are also available in the each hostel of the college campus. The college holds sports festival ARENA.

Centralized air conditioned, the library is spread over 5000 square meters, it has a well-equipped conference hall and a rich collection of relevant books and journals. The total collection of books is around 117224 in the main library, 46902 in General Book bank, 9057 in SCP Book Bank and 2805 received through donation. The library consists of text books, reference books, reports, proceedings, abstracts & indexes, encyclopedias, data books, standards (National & International), Journals & database on CD-ROM. Apart from adding the new literature, the basic literature is also procured for the new programmes along with current one.
