The college is too far from the city. The surroundings of the college are not that good. Good academic facilities. Hostels are average. Less extracurricular activities. Huge crowd.

More about Jiwaji University, Gwalior

Jiwaji University Gwalior was established on May 23, 1964. Late Dr.Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, the then President of India, laid the foundation stone on 11th December 1964 at a sprawling campus of over 225 acres of land at Naulakha Parade ground. During the IX–Plan, the University volunteered for assessment and accreditation by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) of UGC. Several research projects sponsored by the Government of India and the State Government funding agencies, like UGC, DST, CSIR, DOE, DAE, DBT, ICMR, ICHR, MPCOST, CCRUM, MPSBB-Bhopal etc. have been sanctioned and completed successfully by various schools of studies, in the Jiwaji University. The university has 401 Government, Government aided and Private colleges which are catering education to the students under its jurisdiction. These colleges are in for various fields: Medical, Engineering, Science, Education, Nursing, Management, Arts and Commerce etc. The University is spread over the districts of Gwalior, Bhind, Morena, Sheopur Kalan, Datia, Shivpuri, Guna and Ashoknagar across various colleges affiliated to it. The research laboratories are well equipped with the latest scientific instruments and expertise in the state of the art techniques in physical and biological sciences. The meetings of various university bodies like Board of Studies, Research Degree Committee, University court, Academic Council and Executive Council are held regularly to update the syllabi, selection of suitable candidates for PhD programmes, solving various other academic and administrative matters and making policy decisions. The Study Centres of Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi and M.P. Bhoj (Open) University, Bhopal are also functioning in the University Campus.

Available College Facilities

Jiwaji University, Gwalior is situated at Naulakha Parade Ground at a sprawling campus of 225 acres of land. The territorial Jurisdiction of the University is spread over the districts of Gwalior, Bhind, Morena, Sheopur Kalan, Datia, Shivpuri, Guna and Ashok Nagar. The Campus is designed in such a way that all the residents of the university have an easy access to all the daily needs and other facilities at a walking distance Most teachers reside in the campus.

The security personnel at the campus maintain the safety and security at the campus efficiently. The University Health Centre, at the campus, provides First Aid and other facilities to the students, staff and all other residents of the campus. A medical officer is available at the campus during the morning and evening hours. Computer and Internet facilities are available to the students since morning till late nights at the various Schools of Studies. Post Office, Central Bank of India, Cafeteria and a Milk Parlour are also located within the campus for an easy approach to the students.

Hostel

There are 2 girls and 2 boys hostel.The "Mrignayani Girls Hostel" and "Tatya Tope Girls Hostel" are situated within the campus. The hostel has all the required facilities with furnished rooms. Proper security has also been provided for these hostels. One of the boys hostel named after Captain Roop Singh, a veteran hockey player is also located with in the campus to accommodate 150 students. Another boy’s hostel is Arya Bhatta Hostel, which is also well furnished with the Internet and other recreation facilities.

The Sports Complex has got two floodlight basketball courts with portable uprights, three floodlight tennis courts, four volleyball courts (caged) one hockey ground, one grassy football ground, standard cricket ground with turf wicket, one Kho-Kho, two Kabaddi, one Handball, one Indoor hall for Table Tennis, Judo, Aerobics, Badminton, Wrestling and Weight Lifting and a 400 m. grassy track. The sports complex of the university is named as Mahadji Scindia Sports Complex. The newly constructed Gymnasium which is one among the best in the Indian Universities with all modern facilities has been named as Madhav Rao Scindia Gymnasium.

Library

The University central Library has a collection of over 1,40,000 books and about 8000 bound volumes of research journals. It also contains a section of unpublished theses. Presently more than 142 Indian and Foreign journals are being subscribed. The Library also contains Internet access, microfilm reader, 16-mm projector, and a number of films on various subjects. Besides the Central Library, each School of Studies has a library, well equipped with books and journals, useful for advanced study. The collected information material has been organized discipline wise in multi storied stacks for open access of the users. One separate reading cum reference room is established in big hall furnished with latest reading and information materials
