Jiwaji University Admissions 2017

Jiwaji University, a Public University located in the Gwalior city of the central state of Madhya Pradesh, came into existence in the year 1964 through the M.P. Government Ordinance of 1963. The foundation of this University was laid down by the then Honorable President of India, Late Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan in December 1964. The University has been accredited by NAAC with “Four Star” status and has also been appreciated by the University Grants Commission (UGC) on various fronts.

Jiwaji University has witnessed a logarithmic phase of growth in its lifetime and has promoted higher education in regions of Chambal and Gwalior. The University envisions enhancing the well- being of the people by educating, creating knowledge and serving the society. The University also aims to lead the nation in research and education. To fulfill this aim, it provides various courses at the Under Graduate (UG), Post Graduate (PG), Diploma and Doctorate (Ph. D.) levels.

Jiwaji University Application Process

The candidates can apply ONLINE for admission by filling the Application Form through http://www.jiwaji.edu or https://www.mponline.gov.in . Payment for the fees can be made through Credit/ Debit Card or by Net Banking. The application fee is Rs. 600/-. Each student can submit Application form separately for a maximum of five courses. Separate Registration fee of Rs. 200/- per course has to be deposited, in addition to application fee Rs. 600/- along with the Application form.

The printout of the Application form along with the photocopies of the Mark Sheets and other required documents (SC/ ST/ OBC/ FF/ PH/ Kashmiri migrant/ Parsi/ Staff Ward/ NRI/ NCC/ NSS/ Sports, etc.) are required to be submitted to Prof. R. A. Sharma, Chairman Admission Committee, School of Studies in Archeology, Jiwaji University, Gwalior- 474011, either by Speed Post or in person. It can also be submitted at Central Library by hand.

The University may or may not continue a self-supporting course in which the number of candidates is less than TEN in all other courses. In such cases, full fees shall be refunded.

University has hostel facility for both Boys and Girls. After admission, a separate application form is to be submitted if the candidate wants to apply for hostel facility.

M. Sc. Neuroscience is DBT sponsored programme. Candidates admitted shall get a fellowship of Rs. 5000/- P. M.

If the seats remain vacant after the entrance examination, the students can be admitted on the basis of merit obtained in 10+2 examination.

Reservation Criteria: Reservation to SC, ST, OBC, Women, FF & Differently abled will be as per the MP Govt./ University rules.

Jiwaji University Admission Process

Minimum eligibility criteria is 50% marks in aggregate in the qualifying examination for almost all the courses offered by the University. A relaxation of 5% in the eligibility criteria shall be given to candidates belonging to the SC/ ST/ OBC/ Physically Challenged (as defined by the MP Govt.) category of Madhya Pradesh ONLY.

Candidates awaiting the results of their qualifying examination can also apply for admission to the desired course provided that such candidates provide proof of their passing the qualifying examination at the time of admission failing which their candidature will stand cancelled.

Candidates who have passed their qualifying examination from any university other than Jiwaji University are required to submit ‘Eligibility Certificate’ issued by the Jiwaji University, Gwalior, prior to the admission in the desired course.

Reservation of seats in courses offered by the University will be according to the guidelines of the Madhya Pradesh Govt. Of the total seats, 16 percent, 20 percent and 14 percent seats will be reserved for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and OBC Category respectively.

Available College Facilities

Jiwaji University, Gwalior is situated at Naulakha Parade Ground at a sprawling campus of 225 acres of land. The territorial Jurisdiction of the University is spread over the districts of Gwalior, Bhind, Morena, Sheopur Kalan, Datia, Shivpuri, Guna and Ashok Nagar. The Campus is designed in such a way that all the residents of the university have an easy access to all the daily needs and other facilities at a walking distance Most teachers reside in the campus.

The security personnel at the campus maintain the safety and security at the campus efficiently. The University Health Centre, at the campus, provides First Aid and other facilities to the students, staff and all other residents of the campus. A medical officer is available at the campus during the morning and evening hours. Computer and Internet facilities are available to the students since morning till late nights at the various Schools of Studies. Post Office, Central Bank of India, Cafeteria and a Milk Parlour are also located within the campus for an easy approach to the students.

Hostel

There are 2 girls and 2 boys hostel.The "Mrignayani Girls Hostel" and "Tatya Tope Girls Hostel" are situated within the campus. The hostel has all the required facilities with furnished rooms. Proper security has also been provided for these hostels. One of the boys hostel named after Captain Roop Singh, a veteran hockey player is also located with in the campus to accommodate 150 students. Another boy’s hostel is Arya Bhatta Hostel, which is also well furnished with the Internet and other recreation facilities.

The Sports Complex has got two floodlight basketball courts with portable uprights, three floodlight tennis courts, four volleyball courts (caged) one hockey ground, one grassy football ground, standard cricket ground with turf wicket, one Kho-Kho, two Kabaddi, one Handball, one Indoor hall for Table Tennis, Judo, Aerobics, Badminton, Wrestling and Weight Lifting and a 400 m. grassy track. The sports complex of the university is named as Mahadji Scindia Sports Complex. The newly constructed Gymnasium which is one among the best in the Indian Universities with all modern facilities has been named as Madhav Rao Scindia Gymnasium.

Library

The University central Library has a collection of over 1,40,000 books and about 8000 bound volumes of research journals. It also contains a section of unpublished theses. Presently more than 142 Indian and Foreign journals are being subscribed. The Library also contains Internet access, microfilm reader, 16-mm projector, and a number of films on various subjects. Besides the Central Library, each School of Studies has a library, well equipped with books and journals, useful for advanced study. The collected information material has been organized discipline wise in multi storied stacks for open access of the users. One separate reading cum reference room is established in big hall furnished with latest reading and information materials
